THRESHOLD defines the signal level at which the
compressor sets in.

RATIO defines the degree of compression above
the threshold level. For example a ratio of 4.0 : 1
means the output signal will only increase by 1
dB for every 4 dB the input signal exceeds the
threshold.

ATTACK defines how fast the signal level will be
reduced after it exceeds the threshold level.

RELEASE defines how fast the output signal
returns to its normal level once it drops below
the threshold.
BYPASS activates (not engaged) or deactivates
(engaged) the compressor, which allows for
quick A / B comparison between the compressed
and uncompressed signals.
