and verify that the unit is communicating properly.
Note
If the connection is successful, the unit’s serial number will be
displayed at the top of the screen. If the connection is not successful or if
there is no unit attached, then the serial number area will be blank or will
display 99999.

Disconnect the direct connection.

Note
Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends that the modem connections
be tested before the unit is placed in the field. The test will require the use
of two phone lines.

With the RPComm Connect List screen displayed (
Figure D–20
),
select the name of the connection used to verify the direct connection
above and choose the Edit Selected Connection icon. The Connection
Type screen will then be displayed (
Figure D–21
).
