A connection is the hardware, software and proper settings that enables
information to travel between your PC and unit. The hardware part of the
connection is accomplished with the use of a 9-to-9 pin cable. The software
part of the connection is accomplished when RPComm is executed. The
proper settings must be set within RPComm to complete the connection.
Note
The Windows operating system screens shown in this section are
from the Windows 95 operating system. These screens may vary slightly
from your computer’s screens if you are operating RPComm under the
Windows 98 or Windows NT operating systems.

Use the following procedure to create a new connection.
1.
With the Connect List screen displayed (
Figure D–4
), select the New
Connection icon on the toolbar. The Connection Type screen will then
be displayed (

From the Connection Type screen, select the “2000” button and
choose “Settings” to display the AK Protocol Setup screen (
