Cuscinetti di banco
Hanno piste sfalsate l'una rispetto
all'altra; i carichi vengono trasmessi,
tramite le sfere, da una gola all'altra
lungo rette che formano un certo
angolo con l'asse del cuscinetto.
I cuscinetti obliqui a sfere sono
adatti per reggere carichi
combinati (radio-assiali).
Questo tipo di cuscinetto può reggere
carichi assiali diretti in un solo senso.
Infatti sotto l'effetto di un carico radiale,
si genera nel cuscinetto una forza
assiale che deve venir equilibrata da
un'altra diretta in senso opposto: perciò
esso viene montato generalmente
in opposizione con un altro.
Per sostituire i cuscinetti è necessario:
- riscaldare il semicarter in forno alla
temperatura di 100 °C ;
- rimuovere il cuscinetto mediante
tampone e martello;
- installare il nuovo cuscinetto (mentre
il carter è ancora ad elevata
temperatura) perfettamente in
quadro con l'asse dell'alloggiamento,
utilizzando un tampone tubolare
che eserciti la pressione solo
sull'anello esterno del cuscinetto;
- lasciar raffreddare ed accertarsi
che il cuscinetto sia saldamente
fissato al semicarter.
Importante
In caso di motori
particolarmente usurati, può accadere
che le bussole porta cuscinetto non
presentino più la corretta interferenza
di montaggio con i semicarter.
Dopo aver rimosso la bussola,
verificare che l'interferenza tra carter
e bussola, con cuscinetto montato,
non sia inferiore a
0,03 mm in caso
contrario, sostituire i semicarter.

Main bearings
Main bearings have offset inner races
so that the balls can transmit loads
from one groove to the other along the
straight lines forming an angle with the
bearing axis. Offset ball bearings are
designed to bear combined loading
(radial and axial loading).
Bearings of this type can bear axial
loads in one direction only. In fact,
under the action of a radial load inside
the bearing an axial force is created
that must be counterbalanced by an
axial force acting in the opposite
direction; that's why bearings are
generally fitted in opposition to one
another.
To change the bearings proceed as
follows:
- heat the casing in an oven up to
100 °C ;
- remove the bearing using a drift
and hammer;
- fit the new bearing (while the
casing is still hot) perfectly in
square with the axis of the seat
using a tubular drift that applies
pressure exclusively on the outer
ring of the bearing;
- allow the parts to cool and ensure
that the bearing is securely fitted
to the casing.
Important
On badly worn engines bearing
bushes may have lost their original
interference fitting with the casing.
After having removed the bush,
check that the interference between
casing and bush with the bearing
installed is no less than
0.03 mm ,
if this is not the case the casings
must be renewed.
