GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The device must not be modi
fi
ed or altered otherwise, or else this might invalidate the CE marking and the conformity with stand-
ards. The equipment was designed to meet the requirements of normal operation. It is advisable to carry out regular maintenance
activities to keep the equipment in working order. The welder should be serviced only by authorised centres using original spare
parts.
Guidelines for safe use of the device
The operator must trained in operating welders and also read the operating instructions carefully. Follow the safety instructions
in the operating manual. Protect your eyes and face by wearing protective clothing and welding shields. The manufacturer is not
liable for any damage or accidents caused by improper use of the device.
Electrical hazards and safety rules
When working with a welder, observe the health and safety rules for welding, cutting and joining processes. If the above rules are
not followed, the main risks are:
- inhalation of dangerous substances,
- optical radiation,
- burns,

- electric shock,
Hence, the following should be observed:
- do not modify the device, - under any circumstances, do not open the housing: repairs should be carried out by quali
fi
ed person-
nel at service centres authorised by the manufacturer,
- do not dismantle the protective housing or touch parts that may be live,
- in the event of even minor disturbances in the electrical system, disconnect the welder from the power supply and return it to an
authorised service centre,
- check electrical cables before each use; in case of damage to the insulation, the cables must be replaced with new ones that are
free of defects; do not operate the welder with damaged electrical cables,
- do not insert metal objects into the ventilation openings; do not service the appliance by oneself: have it serviced by quali
fi
ed
personnel at service centres authorised by the manufacturer,
- connect the device to a 230 V / 50 Hz AC mains supply equipped with a contact and protective conductor,
- the mains supply must be equipped with a suitable protection system (a thermomagnetic circuit breaker or time-delay fuses) and
a residual current fuse with the parameters required by the device to be connected, including a 30 mA tripping current,
- in some cases the arc current of the welder can be dangerous. Avoid direct contact with the earth (or the component to be
welded) and with the torch or the electrode,
- unplug the power cord from the mains socket each time the welding machine is not in use.
- do not carry out any repair work on the device while it is connected to the mains supply.
