Ventilator Glass Replacement
1. Using an oil can o r similar m eans, squirt prepsol on the
glass filler all around the glass channel or fram e to soften
the old seal. When the seal has softened, rem ove th e glass
from the channel.
2. T horoughly clean the inside o f the glass channel w ith
sandpaper, rem oving all rust, etc.
3. Using new glass channel filler, cu t the piece to be
installed tw o inches longer than necessary for the
channel. Place this piece o f filler (soapstoned side o f filler
away from glass) evenly over the edge o f th e glass w hich
will fit in the channel. The e x tra filler extending b eyond
the rear edge o f th e glass should be pinched to gether to
h o ld it in place during glass installation.
N O T E : One side o f this filler (the outside o f the
ro ll) is soapstoned. This is th e side which goes into
the metal channel.
4. Brush the inside o f the m etal glass channel freely w ith
ordinary engine oil. This will enable the glass and filler to

slide freely in to the channel. Push the glass w ith the filler
around it in to the channel un til it is firm ly seated. A fter
the glass is firm ly in place, the oil softens th e filler,
causing it to swell, thereby m aking a perfect, w atertight
seal. Trim o f f the excess filler m aterial around the
channel and at the ends o f the channel.
N O T E : Glass should be installed so th a t rear edge
is parallel to the division post. A llo w fu ll cure before
water testing.
Door Window Assembly
Removal
1. C om pletely lower glass to b o tto m o f door.
2. Rem ove inside door and w indow regulator handles using
T ool J-7797.
3. Rem ove door arm rest and trim pad.
4. Mask or cover u p p er p o rtio n o f d o o r w indow fram e.
Rem ove v entilator assembly as previously outlined.
5. Slide glass forw ard u n til fro n t roller is in line w ith n otch
in sash channel. Disengage roller from channel.
6. Push w indow forw ard and tilt fro n t p o rtio n o f w indow
u p u n til rear roller is disengaged.
7. P u t w indow assembly in norm al positio n (level) and raise
straight up and out.
8. Reverse above procedure for installation.
Window Regulator Replacement (Fig. 17)
Removal
1. Wind w indow all th e way up.
2. Rem ove inside door handles w ith T ool J-7797.
3. Rem ove door trim pad.
4. Rem ove 4 screws securing regulator to inner panel (Fig.
14).
5. Push regulator o u t o f circular opening while holding rear
o f assem bly, then slide assembly to the notches in the
carrier channel and o u t through the do o r access hole.
Installation
Install regulator in reverse order o f rem oval, lubricate
regulator gears w ith lubriplate or equivalent.
