N orm al use o f a tru ck causes m etal-to-m etal m ovem ent at
certain p o in ts in the cab or body. Noise, wear and im proper
o p eratio n a t these p o in ts will result w hen a protective film o f
lubricant is n o t provided.
F o r exposed surfaces, such as do o r checks, d o o r lock bolts,
lock striker plates, dovetail bum per w edges, etc., apply a thin
film o f light engine oil.
W here oil holes are provided in bo d y p arts a dripless oil can
be safely used, but any lubricant should be used sparingly, and
after application all excess should be carefully w iped off.
The seat adjusters and seat track , ordinarily overlooked,
should be lub ricated w ith w ater resistant EP chassis lubricant
w hich m eets G eneral M otors Specification GM 6 0 3 1M.
There are o th e r p o in ts on bodies w hich m ay occasionally
require lu b rication and w hich are difficu lt to service. W indow
regulators an d controls are confined in th e space betw een the
u pholstery and the outside door panel. Easy access to the
w orking parts m ay be m ade b y rem oving th e trim . Door
w eatherstrips and rubber h o o d bum pers should be lightly
coated w ith a ru b b er lubricant.
SPEEDOMETER ADAPTER
O n vehicles so equipped, lubricate adapter a t fittin g w ith
w ater resistant EP chassis grease w hich m eets G eneral M otors
S pecification #GM 6 0 3 1M every 6,000 miles.
EXTEND ED VEH IC LE STORAGE
