same procedure as above except for S tep 1.
As there are no steps on m anual choke cam , the index line
on side o f cam should be lined up w ith c o n tac t p o in t o f the
fast idle cam follow er tang.

T urn sto p screw in u n til it ju s t contacts b o tto m step o f fast
idle cam . T hen tu rn screw in one full tu rn . Place idle screw on
second step o f fast idle cam against shoulder o f high step. With
screw in this p o sitio n , h o ld choke valve to w ard closed position
w ith a ru b b er b an d and check clearance betw een upper edge o f
choke valve and air ho rn wall. A djust to specified dim ension
by bending tang on choke lever and collar assembly.

CHOKE VA C U U M BREAK ADJUSTMENTS
(M V) (Fig. 7C)
The follow ing procedure for adjusting th e vacuum break
diaphragm unit is used to insure correct initial choke valve
opening after engine starting:
1. Rem ove air cleaner assem bly fro m vehicle. On vehicles
w ith “ T herm AC” air cleaner, plug the sensor’s vacuum
tak e-o ff p o rt.
2. Using an outside vacuum source, apply vacuum to the
vacuum b reak diaphragm until th e plunger is fully seated.
3. W ith the vacuum b rea k diaphragm in th e fully seated
p osition, push th e choke valve tow ard the closed
position.
