b. Rem ove th e tw o bolts securing clutch cross shaft
b rac k et to fram e side rail, and positio n clutch
linkage away from engine m o u n t.
3. Rem ove m o u n t-to -b rack et through-bolt.
4. Raise engine sufficiently to clear m o u n t. Remove bolts
securing m o u n t to fram e bracket.
5. Install new m o u n t to fram e b rac k et, an d to rq u e bolts to
specifications.

. L ow er engine to align m o u n t w ith engine brack et. Install
th ro u g h b o lt and to rq u e to specifications.
7. On m anual transm ission equipped vehicles.
a. P osition clu tch cross shaft betw een frame side rail
and ball stu d on engine b rac k et. Install and torque
fram e bolts.
b. C onnect clutch ro d at o u tb o a rd lever on clutch
cross shaft.

. L ow er vehicle on h oist a n d check o p eratio n o f clutch.
Rear Mount Replacement (Fig. 26L)
1. Raise vehicle on hoist and su p p o rt transm ission so as n o t
to in terfere w ith su p p o rt crossm em ber rem oval.
2. Rem ove bolts securing rear m o u n t to su p p o rt cross­
m em ber.
3. Rem ove sup p o rt crossm em ber retaining b olts from
un d erb o d y cross rail an d w ithdraw su p p o rt from vehicle.
4. Rem ove b o lts securing m o u n t to transm ission extension.
5. Install new rear m o u n t an d to rq u e bolts to specifications.

. P osition su p p o rt crossm em ber to cross rail, install bolts
th e n loosely install crossm em ber-to-m ount retaining
bolts.
7. Rem ove su p p o rt from rear o f transm ission, to rq u e re­
m aining bolts to specifications and low er vehicle on
hoist.
