b. S u p p o rt yoke in a bench vise.
c. Using so ft drift and ham m er, drive on one tru n n io n
bearing to drive opposite bearing from yoke.
N O T E : The bearing cap cannot be driven com­
pletely out.
d. Grasp cap in vise and w ork out.
e. S u p p o rt o th e r side o f y oke and drive o th e r bearing
cap from yoke and remove as in step d.
f. Rem ove tru n n io n from propeller shaft yoke.
2. F or
125” W.B. m odels rem ove bearing sup p o rt as
follow s:
a. Rem ove dust shield.
b. Rem ove strap retaining rubber cushion from bearing
support.
c. Pull su p p o rt bracket from ru b b er cushion and pull
cushion from bearing.
d. Pull bearing assem bly from shaft.
Assembly
1. Assemble bearing su p p o rt as follows:
a. Install inner d eflector on propeller shaft, if rem oved,
and prick p unch deflector at tw o opposite p oints to
m ake sure it is tight on shaft.
b. Fill space betw een inner dust shield and bearing
w ith lithium soap grease.
c. S tart bearing and slinger assembly straight on shaft
journal. S u p p o rt propeller shaft and, using suitable
length o f pipe over splined end o f shaft, press
bearing and inner slinger against shoulder on shaft.
d. Install dust shield over shaft, small diam eter first
and press into position against o u te r slinger.
e. Install rubber cushion o n to bearing.
f. Install bracket o n to cushion.
g. Install retaining strap.
2. Assemble tru n n io n bearings to propeller shaft as follows:
a. O n ex ten d ed life universal jo in ts w hen perform ing
service operations th a t require disassem bly o f th e
universal jo in t, repack bearings w ith grease as
o u tlin ed in S ection 0 .
