Door Lock (Fig. 18)
Removal
1. Raise w indow .
2. Rem ove inside handles w ith T ool J-7797.
3. Rem ove trim panel.
4. Rem ove rem ote co n tro l sill knob.
5. F rom outside the d o o r rem ove screws retaining lock to
door edge and low er the lock assembly.
6. Rem ove screws retaining rem ote control.
7. Rem ove lock, push b u tto n rod and rem ote co n tro l rod as
an assembly.
Installation
1. T ransfer rem ote rod w ith clip to new lock.
2. C o n n e ct rem ote d o o r h an d le ro d to lock after lock is
positioned.
3. Secure lock screws.
4. Secure rem ote handle.
5. C heck all con tro ls for p ro p er o p eratio n before reinstalling
trim an d handles.
6. Install rem ote co n tro l sill knob.
Front Door Lock Cylinder Assembly
Removal and Installation
1. Raise do o r w indow and rem ove d o o r trim pad.
2. With a screw driver, or o th e r suitable to o l, slide lock
cylinder retaining clip (o n d o o r o u te r panel) o u t o f
engagem ent and rem ove lock cylinder.
3. T o install, reverse rem oval procedure.
Front Door Lock Remote Control and Connecting
Rod
The rem ote co n tro l is secured to the do o r inner panel by
the three attaching bolts.
Removal and Installation
1. Raise door w indow and rem ove do o r trim pad.
2. Remove b o lts securing rem ote to door inner panel.
3. Pivot rem ote inb o ard slightly, to disengage connecting
rod, and remove rem ote from door.
4. To install, reverse removal procedure.
N O T E : Connecting rod can be removed at this
p oin t by disconnecting spring clip fro m lock.
Door Adjustments
D oors can be adjusted for alignm ent or clearance in the cab
d o o r opening, and for p ro p er latching. D oor alignm ent adjust­
m ents are m ade a t th e striker bolt, and at door hinges. The
d o o r, w hen properly located in door opening, will have equal
clearance aro u n d its perim eter.
Reposition Door " U p " o r " D o w n "
N O T E : Door " u p " and " d o w n " adjustm ent in cab
opening is provided by means o f floating hinge b olt
tapping plates w ith in door framing. H orizontal
slotted holes in cab half o f hinge assembly provide
the " in " o r " o u t" adjustm ent o f door.
1. Rem ove striker b o lt from cab pillar using T ool J-23457.
(Fig. 19).
2. Loosen hinge-to-door cap screws slightly. R eposition
d oor on hinges to provide equal clearance a ro u n d per­
im eter o f d o o r in cab opening.
3. A fter satisfactory ad ju stm en t has been o b ta in ed , tighten
hinge cap screws Firmly. O pen and close do o r to check
o peration. I f necessary, rep eat adjustm ent.
4. Install striker b o lt and adjust as directed u n d er “ S triker
Bolt A d ju stm en t.”
