Section 5.3.
K465i GaN Reactor Chamber Maintenance
This section covers maintenance to the K465i GaN reactor chamber. It includes
disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly procedures as well as specific steps to prepare the
system for maintenance. Basic system shut down and leak checking procedures are not
covered in this section. Flowflange and Heater maintenance, which can be performed while
the reactor is opened for maintenance, are covered in separate sections. Refer to the
appropriate sections in this manual for the applicable procedures.
Safety Precautions and Hazard Management
In addition to the technician responsible for performing the maintenance, a second
site-qualified technician must be present in the FAB during the maintenance
procedure.
Whenever maintenance or other system related functions are performed on Veeco
TurboDisc systems, safety procedures must be followed which includes wearing any
required personnel protection equipment.
Safety glasses are to be worn when using methanol.
Cleanroom compatible gloves should be worn when performing this maintenance.
Disposable cleanroom sleeves should be utilized to protect arms/clothing from
contamination.
The flow flange assembly is extremely heavy. Use a forklift to remove the assembly
from the reactor and to support it during maintenance.
Be aware of fire hazard, from Aluminum dust.
