Safety Precautions and Hazard Management
Read all safety precautions before performing any actions with the robot system.
To prevent any personal injuries, adhere to the following guidelines when
handling and operating the robot system.
Genmark Automation advises that no operation of the robot should be attempted
without their covers and without the controller’s cover. The robot has many moving
parts, which can catch and grab onto foreign objects such as loose articles of
clothing, fingers, hair, wires and cables.
Genmark Automation advises that all customers, who intend to use the robot in a
manner that a human eye may be damaged by the end effector while the robot is in
use or in motion, should explicitly require wearing of safety goggles.
Genmark Automation warns against placement of any objects in the path of the
robot. Placement of object may damage the robot and the object. For example, do
not position objects under the robot arm when it is raised; when it comes back down
it crashes into the object. Use the threaded holes on the top flange to attach
eyebolts or similar devices.
Genmark Automation advises that all customers connect the power of the Genmark
controller to the power circuitry of their complete equipment. In addition, this
equipment should have an Emergency Off circuit. This EMO which when activated will
discontinue the power from the robot mains. Furthermore, the equipment should
possess a separate means of isolating the power (i.e., circuit breaker) with a
lockout/tagout capability.
