Operation
Absolute Encoder Setup
You must set up the absolute encoder if using a motor with an absolute encoder. The setup is
required when you turn ON the power supply for the first time, when an absolute encoder
system down error (alarm display No. 40) occurs, or when the encoder cable is disconnected
and then connected again.
When using an absolute encoder, set Pn015 to 0 or 2 and set Pn616 to 1.
Absolute Encoder Setup Procedure
1. Turn ON the power supply and align the origin position.
Turn ON the power supply, perform the origin adjustment operation, and move the machine to
the origin position.
2. Go to AUXILIARY FUNCTION mode.

on the driver. AUXILIARY FUNCTION mode will be displayed.
3. Use the Increment and Decrement keys to go to the ABSOLUTE ENCODER CLEAR
mode.
Press
again. ABSOLUTE ENCODER CLEAR mode will be displayed.
4. Start clearing the absolute encoder.
Hold down
. Clearing the absolute encoder will be started.
