Chapter 9 Software Management
STP Summary Information Window
You can select one software object and one STP object at a time from the object list on the left side of
the window. Note that the STP Summary Information window is read–only.
The following tabs are available on the STP Summary Information window:

General Tab
The following areas are available on the General tab of the STP Summary Information window:
•
Fault
•
Syslog
•
MST Configuration
Fault
The Fault area presents a listing of faults raised against the selected STP in tabular format, including
fault severity, time occurred, and a description.
Syslog
The Syslog area provides a listing of syslog events in tabular format categorized according to IOS and
Catalyst OS reports. Each table includes the facility, severity, and message name of the event.
MST Configuration
The MST Configuration area provides the following information:
•
Region Name—Identifies the MST region.
•
Region Revision—Identifies the revision of the current MST configuration.
•
Max Instance Number—Indicates the maximum number of MST instances allowable for the STP.
•
Max Hop Number—Indicates the maximum number of hops allowable for the STP.
•
Remaining Hop Count—Indicates the number of hops remaining for the selected MST instance.
•
Configuration—Lists the VLAN mappings which correspond to the selected MST instance.
Troubleshooting Tab
The Troubleshooting tab of the STP Summary Information window consists of a single area, Show
Commands. The Show Commands area provides the following information:

Command—Indicates the selected troubleshooting command. Possible values are:

Display Spanning Tree

Display Spanning Tree Details
–
Display Spanning Tree Summary
•
Command Table—Presents data according to the Command list selection.
