Chapter 8 Interface and Subinterface Management
Ethernet Interface Management Window
–
Trunking Encap—Indicates the trunking encapsulation configured. Possible values are:
isl—Interface uses only ISL trunking encapsulation when trunking.
dot1q—Interface uses only 802.1q trunking encapsulation when trunking.
dot10—Interface uses only dot10 trunking encapsulation when trunking. Only applicable to
Catalyst OS devices.
lane—Interface uses only Lane trunking encapsulation when trunking. Only applicable to
Catalyst OS devices.
negotiate—Interface will negotiate the trunking encapsulation with peer on interface.
–
CDP—Indicates the CDP tunneling status on the interface, enabled or disabled.
–
802.1x—Indicates the 802.1x port authentication state on the interface as one of the following:
auto—Port state set to Auto.
force–authorized—Port state set to Authorized.
force–unauthorized—Port state set to Unauthorized.
–
UDLD—Indicates the UDLD port state. Possible values are:
enabled—Enables the UDLD protocol on the interface.
disabled—Disables the UDLD protocol on the interface.
aggressive—Enables the UDLD protocol in aggressive mode on the interface.
device–default—Enables the UDLD protocol on the interface according to device setting. This
value is only applicable to fiber interfaces.
–
UDLD Aggressive—Indicates whether the UDLD aggressive mode is enabled or disabled.
–
Flow Control (Rx)—Indicates the receive flow control state. Possible values are: on, off, or
desired.
–
Flow Control (Tx)—Indicates the transmit flow control state. Possible values are: on, off, or
desired. The receiving flow control must be set to on or desired to configure the transmit flow
control. When the receiving flow control is off, this field is automatically labeled Not
Applicable.
–
Local Proxy ARP—Indicates whether the Local Proxy ARP mode is enabled or disabled.
Port Security:
–
Port Security—Indicates whether port security is enabled or disabled.
–
Violation Action—Indicates the action to be taken should the port security be violated. This
attribute is only applicable when port security is enabled. Possible values are:
shutdown—The port automatically shuts down permanently during security violation.
restrict—Allows configuration of the port to remain enabled during security violation and drops
only those packets coming from insecure lists.
protect—Drops packets with unknown source addresses until a sufficient number of secure
MAC addresses is attained to drop below the maximum value.
–
MAC Address Limit—Indicates the maximum secure MAC address.
–
Secured MAC Address—Lists the MAC addresses added for the interface.
–
MAC Address—Enter the MAC address for the interface which you want to add or delete.
