Chapter 8 Interface and Subinterface Management
Ethernet Interface Management Window
Performance Tab
The following areas are available on the Performance tab of the Ethernet Interface Management window:
•
Packets/Octets Statistics
•
Error Statistics
•
Performance Logging
•
Ethernet Statistics Registration
Packets/Octets Statistics
The Packets/Octets Statistics area provides the following information:
•
Bandwidth Util (%)—Percentage of bandwidth utilization of the interface.
Note
This value will be disabled if the Chassis object is not in the normal or performance state.
•
In Octets—Total number of received octets including framing characters.
•
In Broadcast Pkts.—The total number of good packets received that were directed to the broadcast
address. Note that this does not include multicast packets.
•
In Multicast Pkts.—The total number of good packets received that were directed to a multicast
address. Note that this number does not include packets directed to the broadcast address.
•
In Unicast Packets—The number of packets, delivered by this sublayer to a higher (sub)layer, which
were not addressed to a multicast or broadcast address at this sublayer.
•
In Packets/Sec—Five-minute exponentially decayed moving average of input packets per second.
•
In Bits/Sec—Five-minute exponentially decayed moving average of input bits per second.
•
Out Octets—Total number of transmitted octets including framing characters.
•
Out Unicast Pkts—The total number of packets that higher-level protocols requested be transmitted,
and which were not addressed to a multicast or broadcast address at this sublayer, including those
that were discarded or not sent.
•
Out Packets/Sec—Five-minute exponentially decayed moving average of output packets per second.
•
Out Bits/Sec—Five-minute exponentially decayed moving average of output bits per second.
•
More Statistics—Launches the Ethernet Interface Statistics window which provides additional
packet and octet data on the interface.
