Chapter 4 Deploying the Cisco Catalyst Switch Manager
Manually Commissioning Network Elements
The Network Element is placed in the Lostcomms state if the SNMP read community string specified in
the Deployment Wizard is incorrect. If this occurs,
1.
Open the Network Element window (displaying the Configuration tab).
2.
Decommission the Network Element object by clicking Decommission on the Configuration tab.
3.
Select the SNMP tab, then enter the correct SNMP read community.
4.
Select the Configuration tab, then recommission the Network Element object by clicking
Commission.
Step 3
Close the window choosing File > Close or clicking the Close icon in the window tool bar as required.
The window closes.
