Modifying ini Files
Some versions of the UNIX editor “vi” may truncate files with long names, for example:
$CEMF_ROOT/config/dialogs/C6576MManager.attributes.ini
Editing the C6576MManager.attributes.ini with vi may truncate the file due to a long line. Check when
you open the file in vi. There is a message “Line too long” at the bottom of the page where the file size
and number of lines should have appeared.
The solution is to use a different editor like emacs to edit the file or use FTP to transfer the file to a
Windows/PC system (e.g., desktop or laptop). Use Windows Notepad or other application to edit the file.
Then, FTP the file back to UNIX and run the dos2unix command against the file.
Caution
Editing the C6576MManager.attributes.ini as described by Caveat CSCea00281 may impact the system
and its ability to operate as intended. It is recommended that only support personnel perform this action.
