Step 6 Consider the following when fitting the ESD adaptor either to a
19-inch bracket or to a NEBS/ETSI bracket:
•
When fitting to a 19-inch bracket, prior remove the bracket deter-
mined for the ESD adaptor to avoid damage to the pre-installed
jumpers. Remove it as follows:
Using the Torx screwdriver TX20, turn the two screws fixing the
19-inch bracket in counter-clockwise direction until they are
removed from threaded holes completely and lay them aside
safely for reuse.
• When fitting to a NEBS or ETSI bracket, the ESD adaptor can be
fitted to the bracket when attached to the shelf. Therefore, replace
the pre-installed 19-inch brackets first as described in
“Fitting a
7HU Shelf with ETSI or NEBS Brackets” on p. 131 .
Step 7 Take the ESD connection adaptor and the two mounting screws out of
its packing and have it at hand.
Step 8 Use the ESD adaptor and line up the two threaded holes and the
appropriate two holes of the bracket demounted.
Step 9 Verify that the position (i.e. the direction) in which to attach the ESD
adaptor is correct.
Step 10 Use the two M 3x8 mounting screws and insert them into the threaded
holes.
Step 11 Secure the ESD adaptor bracket by tightening the screws with a Torx
screwdriver TX10.
Step 12 When the ESD adaptor has been fitted to a 19-inch bracket, reattach
the bracket to the shelf as follows (see Figure 8 ):
a) Line up the three threaded holes of the shelf side panel and the
holes of the bracket.
b) Reinsert the three fixing screws into the threaded holes.
c) Secure the bracket to the shelf by tightening the screws with a
Torx screwdriver TX20.
