Fitting the SH1HU-R/PF with ETSI or NEBS Brackets
This subsection describes the procedure of fitting the SH1HU-R/PF (1HU Shelf
Rear Power Access) with ETSI or NEBS brackets.
The shelf comes pre-installed with 19-inch brackets. If you want to mount the
shelf in an ETSI or 23-inch NEBS rack, you need to replace 19-inch brackets
with the appropriate adapter brackets. ETSI brackets are required to adapt the
SH1HU-R/PF to the ETSI standard rack dimensions. NEBS brackets are
required to adapt the SH1HU-R/PF to the NEBS standard rack dimensions.
Front mounting or rear mounting of the SH1HU-R/PF shelf in the NEBS Level 3
compliant rack is possible.
It is assumed that you are familiar with ESD-prevention precautions that should
be taken to avoid ESD damage to the equipment.
Equipment Required
•
1 x Bracket pair for front-mounting the shelf in an ETSI compliant rack (ETSI
bracket pair)
•
1 x Bracket pair with steel stiffener for front-mounting the shelf in a NEBS
compliant rack (front NEBS bracket pair) or
•
Torx screwdriver TX25 (for screws M5x8 and M5x6)
•
Suitable grounded surface or an antistatic mat for placing the shelf
The bracket kit shown in
are included in the shipping box. Each front
NEBS bracket has a steel stiffener for added stability. Always use the front
NEBS bracket pair for front-mounting in a two-post rack together with the steel
stiffener. Use
for guidance.
CAUTION
Only Service Personnel are allowed to replace the 19-inch brackets
with the ETSI or NEBS brackets.
Risk of damage due to electrostatic discharge!
To avoid possible ESD damages to sensitive circuit boards, do not
remove the shelf from anti-static packaging until you are ready to
commence fitting it with the appropriate brackets.
Observe standard precautions for handling shelves containing
ESD-sensitive devices.
