ETSI brackets are required to adapt the 1HU equipment shelves to the ETSI
standard rack dimensions. NEBS brackets are required to adapt the 1HU equip-
ment shelves to the NEBS standard rack dimensions.
It is assumed that you are familiar with ESD-prevention precautions that should
be taken to avoid ESD damage to the equipment.
Tools and Parts Required
•
1 x ETSI bracket pair or
•
1 x NEBS bracket pair
•
Torx screwdriver TX20 (for M4x6)
•
Suitable grounded surface or an antistatic mat for placing the shelf
The ETSI and NEBS bracket pairs shown below are included in the shipping
box. Use this figure for guidance.

To replace the 19-inch brackets with the NEBS brackets or the ETSI brackets
perform the following steps:
Procedure
Step 1
Take the 1HU equipment shelf out of its shipping box and put it on
grounded surface or an antistatic mat.
Step 2
Remove the ESD protective bag from the shelf and lay it aside.
CAUTION
Only Service Personnel are allowed to replace the 19-inch brackets
with the ETSI or NEBS brackets.
Risk of damage due to electrostatic discharge!
To avoid possible ESD damages to sensitive circuit boards, do not
remove the shelf from anti-static packaging until you are ready to
commence fitting it with the appropriate brackets.
Observe standard precautions for handling shelves containing
ESD-sensitive devices.
