Step 8
Route the cord through the vertical cable brackets on the left-hand or
right-hand side of the rack to the line power (any AC source outlet).
Step 9
If the dedicated AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to
the OFF (0) position.
Step 10 Insert the attachment plug into the dedicated AC power source outlet.
The system is now ready to operate.
Step 11 If the dedicated AC power source outlet has a power switch, set it to
the ON (|) position to power on the system for the first time.
Step 12 Check the power LEDs.
As soon as voltage is applied, the power LED of the power supply unit
turns green. This indicates that the unit is functioning properly. The
power LEDs of all modules installed in the shelf light up green as well.
The NCU starts booting up. This is indicated by the slot status LEDs
all blinking yellow. After approximately 3 minutes, the slot LEDs go
off. This indicates that the optical modules are not yet provided in the
management. The fans start working, one after another and the fan
status LEDs turn green. This indicates that the fans are also function-
ing properly.
Step 13 If necessary, power off the system by setting the power switch of the
dedicated AC power source outlet to the OFF (0) position or by
unplugging the power cord from the outlet.
The power LEDs and the slot status LEDs go off and the fans stop
working.
Step 14 Perform steps
to
of this procedure to connect the sec-
ond power supply unit (e.g. Power B or Power 2).
End of Procedure
Repeat this procedure for each AC-powered shelf mounted in the rack.

Note
If the LED of the power supply unit is off, then no AC voltage is
supplied to the unit. The power LED turns red if there is an error. For
trouble clearing, refer to the
