Follow the procedure below to install the basic optical connections between the
FSP 3000R7 and ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC equipment. Refer to
Figure 99 .
Procedure
Step 1 At the west ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC right side, connect a fiber
jumper from Port U-D to Port U-M on the east eROADM. (“D” ports
are transmit ports and “M” ports are receive ports)
Step 2 At the west ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC right side, connect a fiber
jumper from Port U-M to Port U-D on the east
ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC.
Step 3 At the west ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC right side, connect a fiber
jumper from Port N-D to the FSP 3000R7, Port 1T on West Preamp.
Step 4 At the west ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC right side, connect a fiber
jumper from Port N-M to the FSP 3000R7, Port 1R on West Post
Amp.
Step 5 At the east ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC right side, connect a fiber
jumper from Port N-D to the FSP 3000R7, Port 1T on east Preamp.
Step 6 At the east ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC right side, connect a fiber
jumper from Port N-M to the FSP 3000R7, Port 1R on east Post Amp.
Step 7 At the west ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC channel 1 port, connect a
fiber jumper from Port C1-M to the FSP 3000R7, Port N-T on west
Channel module. (On channel modules, “R” is a receive port and “T”
is a transmit port)
Step 8 At the west ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC channel 1 port, connect a
fiber jumper from Port C1-D to the FSP 3000R7, Port N-R on west
Channel module.
Step 9 At the east ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC channel 1 port, connect a
fiber jumper from Port C1-M to the FSP 3000R7, Port N-T on east
Channel module.
Step 10 At the east ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC channel 1 port, connect a
fiber jumper from Port C1-D to the FSP 3000R7, Port N-R on east
Channel module.
End of Procedure
WARNING
Invisible laser radiation may be emitted from disconnected fibers or
connectors. Do not stare into beams or view directly with optical
instruments.
