Connecting the Power Cable to the 9HU shelf on the Front
Step 8
Route securely the power cable through the vertical cable bracket on
the left side (Power A) of the rack to the corresponding high-current
connectors of the DC power source, e.g. PDU.
Step 9
Using a voltmeter, verify that no voltage is applied to the power
source output (e.g. PDU) to the shelf to be connected/disconnected. If
voltage is applied then:
a) switch the associated power source circuit breaker to the OFF
position; or
b) remove the corresponding fuse from the power source, if
required, and store the fuse in a safe place for later re-use in the
power connection phase.
Step 10 Attach the other end of the power cable to the corresponding
high-current connectors of the power source, e.g. PDU, according to
local site practice. Pay attention to the polarity! Refer to the terminal
end specifications described in the
Hardware Description, Appendix
A
.
Step 11 Make sure that the wires of the power cable are securely fixed to the
connectors of the power source.
Step 12 Save the protective cover with fixing screws for future use.
WARNING
Risk of burn and fire!
Do not connect/disconnect the CBL/DC/300/2AWG10/SUB-D power
cable, if voltage is applied. Before connecting/disconnecting this
cable, ensure that the associated power source circuit breaker is in
the OFF position and that the corresponding fuse has been removed
from the power source. Failure to follow this instruction will result in
burns and damage of the plug/socket combination by causing
electrical arcing.
