FSP 3000R7 Module Interconnections
The following procedure explains how to connect the individual modules in the
FSP 3000R7 chassis to the ROADM-C40/40/2-3HU-2DC for an optical supervi-
sory channel (OSC) based network.
Follow the same guidelines as described at the beginning of Chapter 8 of this
guide. Refer to
, Physical Cabling Diagram.
Procedure
Step 1
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf 2OSCM module, connect a fiber
jumper from Port NW-R to Port C-D on OSC Filter west.
Step 2
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf 2OSCM module, connect a fiber
jumper from Port NW-T to Port C-M on OSC Filter west.
Step 3
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf 2OSCM module, connect a fiber
jumper from Port NE-R to Port C-D on OSC Filter east.
Step 4
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf 2OSCM module, connect a fiber
jumper from Port NE-T to Port C-M on OSC Filter east.
Step 5
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf OSC Filter west, connect a fiber
jumper from Port U-M to Port 1T on post amp west.
Step 6
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf OSC Filter west, connect a fiber
jumper from Port U-D to Port 1R on preamp west.
Step 7
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf OSC Filter east, connect a fiber
jumper from Port U-M to Port 1T on post amp east.
Step 8
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf OSC Filter east, connect a fiber
jumper from Port U-D to Port 1R on preamp east.
Step 9
At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf, preamp west, connect a fiber
jumper from port 2T to Dispersion Compensation Module (DCM) shelf
west, receive port.
Step 10 At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf, preamp west, connect a fiber
jumper from port 2R to DCM shelf west, transmit port.
Step 11 At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf, preamp east, connect a fiber jumper
from port 2T to DCM shelf east, receive port.
Step 12 At the FSP 3000R7 master shelf, preamp east, connect a fiber jumper
from port 2R to DCM shelf east, transmit port.

Note
If the DCM shelf is not required, then ports 2T and 2R on the east and
west preamp modules are connected together with a short fiber
jumper. Refer to your cabling plan.
