Step 3
For each shelf, check the power LED of the power supply unit. It
should light up green. This indicates that the unit is functioning prop-
erly.
Step 4
For each shelf, the fans (three in total) should start working, one after
another. Check if the fan status LED lights up green. This also indi-
cates that the fan unit is functioning properly.
Step 5
Check the power LEDs of all modules installed in the shelves. They
should light up green.
Step 6
After approx. 3 min., check the slot LEDs of the provisioned modules.
They should light up green. This indicates that the FSP 3000R7 has
finished booting and is now ready for normal operation.

End of Procedure
Possible Problems after Switching Power On
•
If the FAN indicator is red: Turn off the network element. At least two fans in
the fan unit are out of order, the respective shelf can overheat.
•
If the FAN indicator is yellow: One fan is out of order. Replace it with a new
one.
•
If the FAN indicator is blinking yellow:
o
There is a communications problem within the NE. Check Ethernet
cabling.
o
There is an incorrect contact with NCU or FCU. Reset the NCU or the
FCU.

Note
If the LED of the power supply unit is off, then no voltage is supplied
to the unit. In case of an error, the power LED turns red. For trouble
clearing, refer to the Troubleshouting Guide or contact ADVA Optical
Networking for technical assistance.
