Testing the Earth and DC Power Connections
After you have made the power and earth connections, test the connections to
ensure that they are functioning correctly.
Verify the following:
•
The polarity of each DC power cord connection is correct and all wires are
correctly fixed to their connections.
•
The correct voltage level (-48 VDC) is available from the external power
source.
•
The earthing complies with local procedures.
Follow the procedure below to test the DC power and ground connections on
the ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC.
Procedure
Step 1
Connect the -48 VDC and Return wires from the
ROADM-C40/40/OPM-3HU/2DC to the -48 VDC power source.
Step 2
Ensure that the 10 -gauge green earth ground wire is connected to a
reliable earth ground.
Step 3
Turn on the PDU or other -48 VDC power source. Install fuses or turn
on circuit breakers as necessary to apply -48 VDC to the shelf.
