It is assumed that you are familiar with ESD-prevention precautions that should
be taken to avoid ESD damage to the equipment.
Tools and Parts Required
• 1 x NEBS bracket pair
• 4 x M5x10 screws for fixing the NEBS brackets
• Torx screwdriver TX25 (for screws M5x10)
• ESD-preventive wrist strap or other personal earthing devices
• Suitable grounded surface or an antistatic mat for placing the shelf
Figure 40 shows a NEBS bracket.

To fit an NEBS adaptor bracket perform the following steps:
Procedure
Step 1 Take the 40CSM/2HU shelf out of its shipping box and put it on
grounded surface or an antistatic mat.
Step 2 Take the NEBS brackets and the four screws out of the plastic bags
(as supplied in the rack-mount kit).
Step 3 Place the appropriate NEBS bracket on one side of the shelf in the
correct position as illustrated in
Figure 41 . The two threaded holes in
the shelf side panel and the mounting holes of the bracket should line
up.
Step 4 Using the fixing screws provided, fit the appropriate NEBS bracket as
follows:
a) Insert a screw M5x10 screw through a mounting hole in the
bracket into the threaded hole in the shelf side panel.
b) Insert a second screw M5x10 through the remaining mounting
hole in the bracket into the threaded hole in the shelf side panel.
c) Tighten the screws with a Torx screwdriver TX25.
