Step 4
If necessary, replace damaged or inadequately fixed wire terminals
immediately.
Step 5
Remove the protective cover from the corresponding power input
connector on the rear panel of the shelf (e.g. Power A) as follows:
a) Using the Torx screwdriver TX10, remove the two screws fixing
the protective cover and set them aside for later re-use.
b) Remove the protective cover and put it aside.
Step 6
Using the Phillips crosstip screwdriver size1, remove the three termi-
nal screws from the terminal block and lay these screws aside for
later use.
Step 7
Inspect the terminal block for damage. Do not proceed, if one or more
terminal screws are damaged!
Step 8
Route the end of the cable with the ring lugs to the terminal block as
shown in
. Use the cable holders for reliable installation of
the cable and for strain relief of the connection.
Step 9
Connect the ring lugs to the corresponding terminals as shown in
.

Note
Take care of the fixing screws as they will need to be re-used later!
Not all protective covers come with captive screws, therefore be
careful to retain the screws. Fixing screws can fall off and become lost
when the protective cover is mounted or removed.

Note
A damaged terminal block must not be replaced in the field!
Where necessary, return the whole shelf to ADVA Optical Networking
AG for repair.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock or burns!
The protective grounding terminal must be used for altitudes above
2000 m (6562 feet).
