Step 11 Route the power cable through the vertical cable bracket e.g. on the
left hand or right hand side of the rack to the high-current connectors
DC power source, e.g. PDU.
Step 12 Using a voltmeter, verify that no voltage is applied to the power
source output (e.g. PDU) to the shelf to be connected. If voltage is
applied then
a) switch the associated power source circuit breaker to the OFF
position; or
b) remove the corresponding fuse from the power source, store the
fuse in a safe place as it will be required during the power-con-
nection phase.
Step 13 Attach the other end of the power cable to the corresponding
high-current connectors of the power source, e.g. PDU, according to
local site practice. Pay attention to the polarity! Refer to the table
below.
Step 14 Make sure that the wires of the power cable are securely fixed to the
corresponding connectors of the power source.
Step 15 Perform
of this procedure to connect the sec-
ond power supply unit (e. g. Power B).
Repeat this procedure for each DC-powered shelf mounted in the rack.
End of Procedure
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Before connecting this cable, ensure that the associated power
source circuit breaker is in the OFF position and that the
corresponding fuse has been removed from the power source.
Failure to follow this instruction will result in
personal injury, damage
to electrical components or adverse system operation.
