Audience
The primary audience for this chapter is network managers and personnel
involved in the planning and preparation of the FSP 3000R7 hardware installa-
tion. The secondary audience includes customers who are considering the pur-
chase of an FSP 3000R7 and need information about the requirements for
setting up the hardware.
Safety Precautions
This section provides safety guidelines that you should follow when installing
and testing any equipment involving power and laser light.
Safety warnings and cautions appear throughout this guide in instructions,
which, if performed incorrectly, might harm you. Personnel must understand and
apply the safety guidelines provided below. In addition, the safety notices on the
equipment labels should be strictly followed.

Read this Installation and Commissioning Manual as well as the
Safety Guide
carefully and completely before installing,
commissioning and testing the FSP 3000R7 system! These
documents provide important information you need to know to avoid
personal injury and/or equipment damages due to incorrect usage.
WARNING
Risk of fire, bodily injury and/or equipment damage!
(1) Only trained and adequately qualified personnel are allowed to
install and commission the FSP 3000R7
equipment.
(2) Do not work alone if potentially hazardous conditions exist.
CAUTION
Never attempt to lift a shelf by yourself. At least two people are
needed to lift and mount the unit into the rack. ADVA Optical
Networking recommends having two people to hold the unit while
mounting.
