The procedures for fitting the brackets and mounting the shelves to the rack are
described in the following subsections.
The topics covered are:
Fitting a 9HU shelf with ETSI or NEBS Brackets
Fitting a 7HU Shelf with ETSI or NEBS Brackets
Fitting the 1HU Equipment Shelves with ETSI or NEBS Brackets
Fitting a 9HU shelf with ETSI or NEBS Brackets
This subsection describes the procedure that must be followed in order to fit the
9HU shelf (SH9HU) with ETSI or NEBS brackets.
ETSI brackets are required to adapt the 9HU shelf to the ETSI standard rack
dimensions. NEBS brackets are required to adapt the 9HU shelf to the NEBS
standard rack dimensions.
It is assumed that you are familiar with ESD-prevention precautions that should
be taken to avoid ESD damage to the equipment.
Tools and Parts Required
•
1 x ETSI bracket pair or
•
1 x NEBS bracket pair
•
Torx screwdriver TX10 (for the fixing bracket screws)
•
Torx screwdriver TX20 (for the adaptor bracket screws)
•
Suitable earthed surface or an antistatic mat for placing the shelf
The ETSI and NEBS bracket pairs shown in
ping box. Use this figure for guidance.
CAUTION
Only Service Personnel are allowed to replace the 19-inch brackets
with the ETSI or NEBS brackets.
Risk of damage due to electrostatic discharge!
To avoid possible ESD damages to sensitive circuit boards, do not
remove the shelf from anti-static packaging until you are ready to
commence fitting it with the appropriate brackets.
Observe standard precautions for handling shelves containing
ESD-sensitive devices.
