b) Inspect the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) visually for damage and impu-
rities. If necessary, use canned, dry, oil-free compressed air to
blow off any impurities.
If the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) is dropped on a hard surface, dam-
aged in any way, or if its cover is missing, do not install the unit.
Return it to ADVA Optical Networking for examination and repair.
Step 8
Insert the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) into the specified slot (bay) as fol-
lows:
a) Grasp the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) with one hand by the enclosure
and place your other hand underneath the power supply for sup-
port, so that the faceplate is toward you, and the AC appliance
coupler on the faceplate is on the left. See
.

b) With the AC appliance coupler on the left, align the
PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) to the open power supply bay on the rear
of the 1HU shelf.
c) Using moderate force, slide the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) all the way
into the power supply bay until the unit connector mates properly
with the backplane connector.
Step 9
Ensure that the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) is completely inserted into the
power supply bay.
The PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) is completely inserted, when its faceplate
is flush with the shelf’s rear panel and the two knurled screws on the
faceplate are aligned with their threaded holes in the shelf.
NOTICE
Risk of electromagnetic disturbances!
Be careful not to damage the EMI shielding gasket on the
faceplate edges of the power supply when inserting the
unit into the slot. Otherwise EMC compliance cannot be
achieved.

Note
The PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) can only be inserted with the AC
appliance coupler on the left.
NOTICE
Risk of connector damage!
When inserting the PSU/1HU-R-AC(-200) into the power
supply bay, do not use unnecessary force. Slamming the
unit into the bay can damage the connectors.
