2. Review the charge time for the last full energy charge. You may be able to decrease
the device charge time by adjusting how frequently the capacitors are formed. For
information about adjusting the interval between capacitor formations, see Section 9.9,
“Optimizing charge time with Automatic Capacitor Formation”, page 421.
6.1.3.2 How to assess the performance of the device and leads
1. To review trends in pacing impedance, capture thresholds, and P-wave and R-wave
amplitude, select the [>>] button next to the lead trend graphs on the Quick Look II
screen. The programmer displays a detailed history of automatic impedance, capture
threshold, and sensing measurements. For more information about viewing lead
performance trends data, see Section 6.13, “Viewing detailed device and lead
2. If you also want to gather real-time information about the performance of the device
and leads during the follow-up session, you can perform the following tests:
●
Lead Impedance Test: Compare the results of the test to previous lead impedance
measurements to determine if there have been significant changes since the last
follow-up session. For more information, see Section 10.4, “Measuring lead
●
Sensing Test: Compare the test results to previous P-wave and R-wave amplitude
measurements. For more information, see Section 10.5, “Performing a Sensing
●
Pacing Threshold Test: Use the test to review the patient’s capture thresholds.
Determine the appropriate amplitude and pulse width settings to ensure capture
and maximize battery longevity. For more information, see Section 10.2,
“Measuring pacing thresholds”, page 425.
6.1.4 Verifying the clinical effectiveness of the implanted system
You can use the information available from the Quick Look II screen and in printed reports
to assess whether the device is providing adequate clinical support for the patient.
6.1.4.1 How to assess effective pacing therapy
1. Interview the patient to confirm that the patient is receiving adequate cardiac support
for daily living activities.
2. Review the pacing percentages on the Quick Look II screen, and print a Rate Histogram
Report.
