7.30 INSTALLING AND REPLACING OPTIONAL RIBBON BOSS KIT
1.
Before proceeding, switch off the printer and remove the
main cover
,
left housing cover
and the
top left
housing cover
to gain access to the internal (electrical and mechanism) hardware. Refer to
Section 7.1
Removal of Housing cover
for details.
2.
Follow
step 4
to
step 6
of
Section 7.5 Replacing Ribbon Feed Roller, Oneway Clutch and Torque
Limiter
to remove the
Ribbon frame
from the printer. Set all the parts aside for reassemble.
3.
Follow
step 4
and
step 5
of
Section 7.7 Replacing Torque Limiter (Ribbon Rewinder), Oneway
Limiter and Oneway Clutch
to detach the
Ribbon rewind spindle assembly
from the printer. Set all the
parts aside for reassemble.

Follow
step 11
and
step 12
of
Section 7.21 Replacing Ribbon Sensor
to detach the
ribbon rewinder
sensor assembly
(1) from the printer.
5.
Attach the
ribbon sensor jumper calbe set-LF
(2) to the relay connector of detached
ribbon rewinder
sensor assembly
.
6.
Attach the
disk plate cover
(3) with a
screw
to the detached
ribbon rewinder sensor assembly
location
as shown.
7.
Attach the
Ribbon boss kit
(4) and reassemble the
Oneway Limiter
,
Torque Limiter
,
Oneway Clutch
,
Gear Pulley_K(83/83)
and
E-ring
back to the
Ribbon rewind spindle.
Reverse the above procedures (step 2 and step1) for reassembly.
8.
After replacement, adjust the ribbon tension according to the procedure in
Section 6.19 Adjusting Timing
Belt Tension
.
9.
Disable the ribbon core nonlock detection through the
Service mode
. Please refer to
Section 4.15.6
Overview of Setting menu in Service Mode
for details.
(SERVICE MODE -> SETTING -> NONLOCK CHECK -> DISABLE)
