7.20 REPLACING HEAD OPEN SENSOR
1.
Before proceeding, switch off the printer and remove the
main cover
,
left housing cover
and the
top left
housing cover
to gain access to the internal (electrical and mechanism) hardware. Refer to
Section 7.1
Removal of Housing cover
for details.
2.
Unscrew five
screws
to detach the
Main (CONT) PCB bracket
from the printer frame. Refer to
Section
7.6 Replacing Torque Limiter (Ribbon Unwinder)
for details.
3.
Turn the purple
head lock lever
to release the
printer head
.
4.
Under the
print head assembly
, remove the
screw
(1) securing the
Head Open sensor assembly
(2) to
the printer frame.
5.
From the mechanism side of the printer, disconnect the
wiring harness
of the
Head Open sensor
assembly
(2) and carefully remove the
Head Open sensor assembly
(2) from the
print head assembly
side.
6.
Replace the defective
Head Open sensor assembly
(2) and reverse the above procedures for reassem-
bly.
Note:
Insert the
wiring harness
firmly and arrange the
wiring harnesses
to ensure that they are not
pinched during installation.
7.
After replacement, check the Head Open sensor condition based on
Section 6.11.2 To check Head Open
sensor and Lid Latch Sensor
.
