condition in an incoming OC-12 signal. LOF is
defined as an out-of-frame (OOF) condition (five
consecutive errored STS-1 framing patterns) that
lasts for at least 3 milliseconds.
Likely causes: Failure of the OLIU circuit pack at
the near end, failure of the OLIU circuit pack at the
far end, or failure of the receive fiber.

CR or MN The system has detected loss-of-signal (LOS)
condition on the OC-12 line.
Likely causes: Failure of the OLIU circuit pack at
near end, failure of the OLIU circuit pack at far end,
or failure of the receive fiber.

None The system has detected OC-12 line alarm
indication signal (AIS) on an incoming OC-12 line.
Likely cause: Failure of an OLIU circuit pack at the
far end.

or OC-1 line. The system responds by transmitting
DS1 or DS3 AIS toward the DSX and transmitting
STS-1 yellow toward the fiber from which the AIS is
being received.
Likely causes: Incomplete or incorrect
cross-connect provisioning in an end-to-end
network. Unprotected removal or failure of a DS3,
MXRVO, or OLIU circuit pack at the far end, or
unprotected optical line failure.
