5.3 Dangers due to laser radiation
CO

lasers generate invisible light (electromagnetic radiation) with
high energy. Both direct and reflected laser radiation can endanger
people. Different biological tissues absorb light differently. It is
generally converted into heat and can lead to thermal damage (e.g.
burns, destruction of protein).

Warning
Invisible, high-energy laser radiation!
Severe skin burns and eye injuries may occur. Severe
impairment of sight up to complete blindness can result.

Setting work which requires 100% laser output may only be
carried out by specially trained service personnel.

Protective gloves and laser safety glasses must be worn
during setting work with the laser switched on.

If necessary, the customer must take additional precautions
to secure the danger area (e. g. using partition walls of sheet
steel or polycarbonate).
