The modules of the laser cutting center
3-39
The TLF laser is equipped with a maintenance-free radial turbine
blower for circulating the laser gas. The shaft in the blower is
magnetic and thus stored in a contactless position. In the blower
there is no abrasion through mechanical ball bearings.
TLF lasers are excited by a high-frequency alternating current.
•
The radio-frequency excitation results in homogenous gas
discharge and thus in power constancy of the laser.
•
Lower voltage is needed for the excitation of the laser gas than
when coupling the energy via a DC source. Result: lower CO
2
disintegration hence lower gas consumption, and lower risk of
injury through electric shock.
•
Electrodes will not wear out because they are not connected
directly to the laser medium and therefore are not exposed to
gas discharge. In addition, the electrode material cannot
contaminate the resonator. This reduces the maintenance
requirements and also the gas consumption.
The laser control system offers the following options:
•
Logbook
function.
•
Laser power control.
•
Power
cycles.
•
Frequency modulation/analog frequency preselection.
Targeting laser
The TLC 1005 is equipped as standard with a targeting laser
(alignment laser). The targeting laser is a laser diode that emits
light of wavelength 635 nm. The light beam of the laser diode is
directed via a mirror and a mechanical guide unit into the beam
trajectory of the machine.
The targeting laser is used to help align and adjust the laser beam.
The targeting laser projects a small red point of light (
∅
approx.
2 mm) onto the workpiece. This makes positioning the cutting head
or welding head fast and easy. The targeting laser is advantageous
when:
•
Approaching a start position.
•
Recording the contour during teaching.
•
Withdrawing from the contour of a 3-D workpiece, e.g. in order
to check a taught NC program.
