[45] Layout settings for originals
Settings group Setting Description/ function
'Layout' 'Original' You can indicate that the originals are
1-sided or 2-sided.
'Document type'

The values that this settings can have
are indicated by icons. The icon
show the following.
■
How the information is mapped on
the paper.
■
The binding edge of a 2-sided
document. A 2-sided document can
turn on the long edge or the short
edge.
'Margin erase' This setting indicates the size of that
part of the margin that is to be erased
from the original, seen from the binding
edge.
Note:
The binding edge is
defined by the value of the
setting 'Document type'.
[46] Image setting for originals
Settings group Setting Description/ function
'Image' 'Image type' This setting describes the information
on the original. The system takes this
information into account to produce an
optimal output. This function enhances
the quality of the copy job.
You can indicate the following types of
information
■
'Photo'. The original contains mainly
illustrations or photos.
■
'Text'. The original contains only
text.
■
'Mixed'. The original contains both
text and illustrations.
