When deciding where to position the Diagnostic Connector the user should take into consideration that, when
in operation, the technician using the port will require cabling from the port to a laptop computer. An additional
consideration is that voltage from the vehicles low 24 V electrical system will be present on pin 16 of the
Diagnostic Connector.
Therefore, the Connector should be positioned inside the vehicle’s cabin in a location that will provide easy
access while the vehicle is in motion, but will not interfere with the driver or passengers while in use and will
protect the driver and passengers from the possibility of electrical shocks.
