FRX8000 3. 0 User G uide, Rev 02
specified in the disabled trunk’s Port record. When the backup trunk receives the
enable request, it checks its internal counter to see how many trunks it is currently
backing up. If the counter is zero, the node enables the trunk, and increments the
counter to one. If the counter is not at zero, this means the trunk is already active, and
the counter is simply incremented by one. hen the failed trunk is re-activated, a disable
request is sent to the backup trunk. The backup trunk then decrements its counter by
one. If the counter is now zero, the software waits for 65 seconds, then starts the
backup trunk’s de-activation timer (configured in the port record). Once the timer
expires, the backup trunk becomes disabled.
De-Activation Timer
specifies the length of time that a backup trunk stays up after all of its primary trunks
have come back up.
This Trunk Backed Up
specifies whether the current trunk has a backup trunk.
Backup LP ID/Port No./Logical Trunk
identifies the port that will be the local end of the backup trunk.
