to save the file and exit the text editor.
Enable the Change
Since the software reads the .cshrc file at login, you must log out, then in again:
1. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
logout [Enter]
.
2. At the UNIX login prompt, type
netlink [Enter]
. Enter your login password, if
necessary.
Turn On Call Accounting
1. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
util [Enter]
.
2. From the NMP Utilities Menu, follow the procedure described earlier for “ Turn
Off Call Accounting ” on page F-6, but this time turn it on. (Be sure to perform
another on-line update of the Network Defaults file.)
Automatic rollover is now enabled and saved in the system software, and will
subsequently be enabled automatically at startup of the NMP processes.
When an automatic call accounting file rollover occurs, a message will be sent to the
printer, just as if you had performed the operation manually.
Disabling Automatic Rollover
To disable automatic rollover and return to manual operation, you essentially reverse
what you did to enable it.
Turn Off Call Accounting
1. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
util [Enter]
.
2. At the NMP Utilities Menu, type
3 [Enter]
and follow the prompts. When done,
exit the menu to the
[NETLINK]
prompt.
3. Type
gcon [Enter]
(or
consol [Enter]
if at an Auxiliary Console) to enter the Main
Menu.
4. At the Main Menu, press
[B]
, then
[G]
, to update the Network Defaults file. When
finished, press
[F3]
twice to return to the Main Menu.
Edit the File
1. Press
[R]
at the Main Menu to return to the
[NETLINK]
prompt.
2. At the
[NETLINK]
prompt, type
vi /u/netlink/.cshrc [Enter]
.
3. After the file is displayed, press
[G]
to move the cursor to the last line of the file
(which is the one you added).
4. You can now either delete the entire line or, to ease re-enabling later, change the
value of “
n
” to
0
.

To delete the line, press
[D]
twice. (Do not press
[Enter]
.)

” to
0
, move the cursor to the end of the line, back space to delete
“
n
”, and press
0
.
