Configuring a BSC Interactive Port Record
To configure a record for a BSC Interactive port, press
[A]
, then
[C]
from the Ports
Selection Menu (or
[A], [D], [A], [C]
from the Main Menu). When prompted, enter:

Node ID
(of the node containing the port):
1–250
. (Default is the “local” node.)
●
LP ID
(of the LP containing the port):
0–7
. (Default is
0
.)
●
Port
:
0–7
.
●
Any other requested information, noting the values in Table 12-1 . (Press
[Enter]
at a prompt to specify the default value.)

Item I will be displayed only if Physical Interface is RS-530, RS-422 , or V.35 ,
and Generate Clock is Y.
Pressing [1] or [2] will display more parameters, listed in Table 12-1 .
When Changes Take Effect at the Port
When you add a new Port record, it will be written to the database as soon as you enter
the final parameter value. When you modify a parameter in an existing record, the
change will be written to the database immediately.
The change will become effective at the port in one of the following ways:

Press
[F7]
while still in Maintenance operations on the record. This will tempo-
rarily disable the port, then write the change to the software running in the node.
●
Re-IPL the node containing the changed port.
