Network Name
will be displayed at the top of the Main Menu.
ELP Page Size
is the number of lines that will be printed on each page of the event logging printer
(ELP) before a “top of form” is sent to the printer, starting a new page. Each Node
record (see
Chapter 5
) contains the parameters
Level 1/2/3/4 Primary/Secondary Node
,
which specify an INM/ICP/NMP (each with an attached ELP) to which the node will
send its alarm (event) messages. (Levels 1–4 are described in
Chapter 21
.)
Output Leading 0s on ELP
causes (if
Y
) all alarm numbers on printouts to be three digits, by inserting one or two
zeroes at the beginning of each number that is fewer than three digits.
Call Actg Timer
is the time between reporting sessions to the Call Accounting file (described in
Chapter 18
) with information on calls in progress. The file is updated automatically
when a call is cleared; if this parameter is set to
0
, the file will be updated only when
calls are cleared.
Call Actg Seg. Size
is the number of bytes that will be recorded as a segment, to allow data gathering and
billing by some grouping other than packets or bytes. The number of segments is
recorded in the accounting file along with packet and byte totals.
DNIC
is a Data Network Identification Code, which conforms to CCITT Recommendation
X.121. The DNIC occupies digits 2–5 of an X.121 address. If you enter fewer than
four digits in the Network Defaults record, leading zeroes will be added.
If your network is a PDN, enter your assigned DNIC. (If not a PDN, this parameter
has no meaning.)
Line Disconnect Timeout
is a timer that is started on receipt by level 3 of a lost Carrier Detect, Data Set Ready,
or Clear to Send message, and is stopped when all lost signals are regained. If the timer
expires, the line will be disconnected and a reset initiated.
Modem Disconnect Timeout
is the period between the clearing of the last X.25 call on a V.25bis line and the
hanging up of the modem. If a call comes in during this period, the timer will be reset
and not restarted until the last call has been cleared.
IP Network Address
identifies the FRX8000 interface(s) to the IP network. This address must be assigned
by the Network Information Center (NIC) at Stanford Research Institute. (If the local
network does not use IP, this parameter will be ignored.) The node number of the
FRX8000 containing each interface will be appended to this address for further iden-
tification. (IP configuration is described in
Chapter 14
.)
IPX WAN Network Address
identifies all FRX8000 IPX interfaces on a Novell network. (If there is no Novell
network in this configuration, the parameter will be ignored.)
