System Defaults Parameters

Although the SNMP standard for these fields is 256 characters, an FRX8000 database
file length restriction limits the fields to 250 characters each.
System Name
identifies the local FRX8000 to the SNMP manager.
System Location
is generally the geographical address of the local node.
System Contact
identifies a person at the FRX8000 site who can be contacted if there are issues to
discuss.
Community Parameters
“Communities” are groups of SNMP manager devices that have access to agents
configured to recognize those communities. Assignment of managers to communities
is done at the management end. Up to sixteen communities can be configured in the
FRX8000. Each SNMP request that comes into a node will include a community
name. The request will be accepted only if the name is in the Community Table in the
FRX8000.
