When Changes Take Effect
When you add a Node record, the change will be written to the database when you
enter the final parameter value. When you modify a parameter in an existing record,
the change will be written to the database immediately.
Changes to the following parameters can be implemented without disrupting node
operation:

Alternate NMP Node
, described in the explanations following Table 5-1 .

Level “n” Primary/Secondary Node
, described under “Changing Alarm Routing
On Line” on page 4.
A change to any other parameter will take effect after the next IPL of the configured
node, with the exception of
Node Type
, which must be implemented (assuming the
necessary changes have been made at the node to add/remove system board memory
and UNIX and FRX8000 software) by performing a
Configuration Update
