Monitoring a Line

The line monitor option displays the control data and information data of every level
3 packet that passes through an X.25, SNA, or trunk port.

Press

[D]

at the Status Displays Menu (or

[C], [D]

from the Main Menu) and, when

prompted, enter the desired node, LP, and port numbers. A message like the following
will appear:

Options are F,H,L,M,S,D,Q,C,R,T,A, and F3 to exit
Press F to start

The options act as follows:

Stops the display from scrolling, or restarts if stopped.

Toggles the data format of the displayed information between ASCII and

hexadecimal.

on an X.25 line, monitors a specific LCN; when prompted, enter the LCN.

If packets are currently being exchanged on that channel, the display will
begin scrolling them.

Monitors a different line; when prompted, enter the LP and port numbers.

Updates and re-displays the “
