4. Once the record is displayed, the following options are available:
a. To exit
Maintenance
, press
[F3]
.
b. To display the next sequential record in the file, press
[F2]
.
c. To display another record in the file (other than the next one), press
[F1]
, then
enter new values.
d. To delete the record, press [
F4]
. When asked:
Delete?
, press:
[Y]
to delete, or
[F2]
to delete and display the next record (see option “
b
”), or
[N]
to leave the record alone.
If the record is deleted, the following alarm message will be sent to the
event log (which will display and/or print it, depending on how certain
parameters are configured):
(Date/Time) Database change #xxxx-x yyy initiated for (Filename)
where:

Date/Time
) is when the change was made,
xxxx-x
is the transaction and node number,
yyy
is the type of change (
ADD, UPD, or DEL
), and
(
Filename
) is the name of the file changed.
e. To copy the record to another record in the same file (port to port, LP to
LP, etc.), press
[F5]
and enter the requested information. The record will
be copied, and a
Database change
message like that in option “
d
” will be
printed.
You cannot copy a physical port’s record to a logical port, or vice
versa.
